The Burning Shadow is the newest addition to the Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, the New York Times bestselling author of the Lux series. Which I was excited to read because I loved the Lux series so much. So what did I think? Well, let’s just say that the Burning Shadow turned out to be so much more than what I thought it would be!

The cover of The Burning Shadow is deceiving, giving off a subtle and peaceful feel. Nothing could be further from reality! Powerful magic battles, evil hidden in plain sight, and beings from another realm tear their way through a once tranquil world. The story was well crafted, combining realistic emotions with magical abilities that twist everything up and leave you at turns on edge or holding your breath in fear for what’s next to happen. 4 Stars
