Overview About “Bethlehem” by “Karen Kelly”

Karen Kellyounces that Bethlehem is a novel about belief. In her debut work, she details how people can give in to fear, or how they can choose to overcome it. A five-year-old boy’s eyes open one morning and he sees something which cannot be real — something which convinces him that he will never know peace in his life again. Despite being told that his fears are silly, Tom grows more fearful every day because he believes what he saw; meanwhile, his mother is fighting for peace differently — as an activist working against a plan to resettle refugees on Lampedusa, she is dedicated to helping others and bringing joy into her son’s life once again.
